Electrically fused magnesia is a general term for the products of magnesite and other magnesia raw materials that have been treated at high temperatures to achieve a sintering degree. Magnesia produced by using high-temperature equipment such as shaft kilns and rotary kilns as a single or two-step calcination process and using natural magnesite as raw material is called sintered magnesia; Using magnesite and other raw materials as raw materials, which are melted in an electric arc furnace and cooled to a molten state, is called fused magnesia; Extracting magnesium oxide from seawater is called seawater magnesia. Magnesia is one of the most important raw materials for refractory materials, used in the manufacture of various magnesium bricks, magnesium aluminum bricks, ramming materials, furnace repair materials, and so on. Containing a large amount of impurities, it is used to pave the bottom of the steelmaking furnace, etc.

High purity magnesia is produced by selecting natural super grade magnesite ore for flotation purification, through light burning, fine grinding, ball pressing, and ultra high temperature oil shaft kiln calcination. It is a high-quality raw material for brick and refractory materials. Medium grade magnesia is produced from lightly burned magnesium oxide with a MgO content of 97% by pressing balls and calcining in a high temperature shaft kiln. The product has good sintering degree and dense crystallization, making it a high-quality raw material for producing medium grade magnesium refractory products.

Electrofused magnesia is produced by melting selected grade A natural magnesite or high-purity calcined magnesium particles in an electric arc furnace. This product has high purity, large crystalline particles, compact structure, strong slag resistance, and good thermal shock stability. It is an excellent high-temperature electrical insulation material, and is also an important raw material for producing high-grade magnesium bricks, magnesia carbon bricks, and amorphous refractory materials.
